Engineering & Technical Support Lab Technician

Qualifications:

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or other science or engineering related degree.

• Other education will be considered with compensating pertinent work experience.

• Two years of laboratory or product development/application research experience

• Prior field or lab experience with industrial plant water treatment and/or similar applications.

• Candidate must be able to collaborate with senior technical colleagues to design research plans and interpret potentially complex and sometimes conflicting findings

• Follow lab protocols and apply research appropriately in a lab-based setting

• Self-motivated and independent thinker who can expand value of position based on their initiative.

• Familiarity with boiler, cooling, influent clarification, and wastewater treatment is a Plus.

• Familiarity with petroleum refining, petrochemical or ammonia industrial facilities is a Plus Preferred

• Master in Sciences or Engineering related field, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.

• Knowledge and previous experience with industrial water treatment chemistry e.g., Boiler & Cooling corrosion/scale inhibitors, Influent Clarification & Waste Treat

Duties:

Successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Formulate new products and screen new chemistries using performance simulation tools

• Blend and conduct product stability tests for water-based products

• Perform analytical and performance testing to support new product development with adherence to Halliburton and ASTM standardized methods.

• Develop new methods to support product development projects as required

• Effectively use design-of-experiment (DOE) software for efficient, effective product development.

• Conduct Materials compatibility testing on existing Halliburton Multi-Chem products

• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of equipment

Schedule:

Shift, hours, rotation: 8am -5pm
